First show weekend in the Non-Sporting Group

NLAA members and their dogs had an outstanding first weekend as an AKC recognized breed.  At shows in Palm Springs, California & Glen Rose, Texas, the Lundehund breed had an amazing entry, earning majors at all shows. If you are unsure of the requirements to obtain an AKC conformation Championship, please click HERE.  The requirements are located in Chapter 16 on page 61.  The short answer is: 15 total points 2 of the wins must be a "major" # of points awarded depend on the # of dogs entered.  Points range is 1 - 5.  A win totaling 3, 4 or 5 is considered a major. The 2 majors have to be under 2 different judges. The remainder of the points have to be from a 3rd (or more) judge(s).

NKK annual breed results - 03 Dec 08

It was announced that Ski earned enough Norwegian breed points to be awarded the following results: #3 Norwegian breed #1 Lundehund

NKK show - Trondheim, Norway - 08 Jun 08

Ski went Best of Breed over 45 other entries!  She won: CK - a Norwegian CAC point CACIB - international point new Norwegian Champion

At the end of the day, they had a group entry dedicated solely to Norwegian breeds which had the BOB winners of all 7 native Norwegian races Ski took 2nd place, missing 1st to the world-ranked Elkhound that went Best in Show According to THIS PAGE (the results from Trondheim), as of this show, Ski is the 2nd highest ranked dog in Norway for 2008 Look for the entries under "Årets beste norske hund etter denne utstillingen"

NLK Specialty - Øysand (Trondheim), Norway - 07 Jun 08

	Foss av Vinterskogen took Best Puppy in Show On the Monday after the show, Foss flew home to join the Rousseau family.  Many thanks to Ingvild Espelien for trusting us with your very handsome pup!

SVC show - Fribourg, Switzerland - 23 & 24 Feb 08

	Ski had a wonderful weekend!  She won: a CAC (Swiss national point) on both days a CACIB (International point) on both days Best of Breed on both days, beating a registered Champion
	On Saturday, she also received a Group 3 placement! According to several sources, this is the highest a Lundehund has ever placed in Europe, outside of Scandinavia!

SSKY show - Helsinki, Finland - 30 Sep 07

	Ski won Winners Bitch & Best of Opposite Sex over 10 other females
	She was also awarded a Finnish Certificate, which brings her another step closer to her International Champion title

DCNH show in Herborn-Seelbach - 28 & 29 Apr 07

	Peter Rousseau & Ski attended the German Specialty held in conjunction with the 6th annual Lahn-Dill-Schau show hosted by the Northern Breed Club of Germany (DCNH) The DCNH is dedicated to all breeds within Group 5 of the FCI breed standards The German Lundehund Club holds their Specialty at this show annually.  It is held on the Saturday, with the Best Feet class being the last event of the entire day.
	There were 16 Lundehunds entered from Germany & Luxembourg Saturday results are: Best of Breed - Lupachi's Menja Best of Opposite Sex - Askrogh's Loke Best Feet - Askrogh's Loke Sunday results are: Best of Breed - Lupachi's Menja Menja also took a Group 3 placement during the Best in Show judging Best of Opposite Sex - Askrogh's Loke

High Plains Kennel Club (UKC), 18-19 Nov 06 - Latigo Trails Equestrian Center, Elbert, Colorado

	Ski & Ayla showed as part of 9 Lundehunds entered in 3 shows (2 on Saturday, 1 on Sunday)
	Saturday, Show 1 - Ski completed her UKC Championship
	Saturday, Show 2 - Ayla won the Championship class (1 of 5 wins needed for Grand Champion title)

Frontier Belgian Shepard Dog Association, 01 Oct 06 - Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Golden, Colorado

	Ski & Ayla showed as part of 10 Lundehunds entered in 2 shows on Sunday
	Show 2 - Ayla completed her UKC Championship

Twin Peaks Kennel Club (UKC) show 14-16 July 2006 - Boulder County Fairgrounds, Longmont, Colorado

There were a total of 8 Lundies entered, all by NLAA members, in a combined total of 5 conformation shows this weekend Tracy & Pete Rousseau Brought both of their girls, Cliffhanger Elsking Prinsess & Cliffhunters Ayla Sakari and they competed in all 5 shows

Webmaster's observation:  This was a nice show to enter.  I believe the total # of entries was 119.  The lower #s allowed for us to see all the different breeds and get to talk to folks, fanciers & spectators alike.  An added bonus is UKC is less formal and, as a result, less intimidating to the novice handler.  If you've been thinking about showing and weren't sure where to start, I would look to a UKC show to get you going. I was truly amazed at how many folks there knew the Lundehund or had heard of them and wanted more information.
